Founded in 2017 to redefine the client-agency relationship, we set out to transform the role—and reputation—of brand and marketing in driving real business growth across our region (and beyond).
Platform Marketing + Comms was born out of a frustration shared by so many good businesses: they were doing great things, but their growth was being held back by a lack of strategic marketing expertise.
Not because they weren’t capable — but because they didn’t have the strategy, structure or support to turn their ambition into sustained, scalable success.
We saw regional businesses pouring energy into marketing without clear goals, direction, or consistency — often defaulting to short-term tactics or relying on generalist advice. We knew there was a better way. So, we built it.
Platform was founded to do marketing differently. Not as an ad-hoc service, but as a strategic growth engine. We exist to simplify the way ambitious businesses build strong, effective brands — and to make sure they invest their time, money, and energy in what truly drives business outcomes.

Emily has always had one foot in strategy and the other in execution. Her career spans over two decades across Australia and the UK, working in senior marketing and communications roles across sectors, brands, and borders. But her roots? They run regional—and deep.
Raised in a family business that grew from a regional start-up to a national operation with 52 locations, she learnt early what it really takes to build a business - experiencing firsthand how relationships, reputation, and real value create staying power. And she noticed the gap: even the best businesses often lacked the marketing clarity and capability to take things to the next level.
That insight, paired with her obsession for problem-solving and fiercely competitive nature, led her to launch Platform Marketing + Comms in 2017.
Em doesn’t just understand marketing—she understands business. She brings a rare blend of big-picture thinking and tactical smarts, combining commercial acumen with brand strategy to help clients transform not just how they show up, but how they perform.
She’s a connector by nature, a leader who lifts others up, and a regional advocate who believes that great ideas—and great businesses—don’t have to live in big cities to make a big impact.
